The Cotman Project

Inkwell is embarking on a journey. We’re responding to the British watercolour artist John Sell Cotman and invite you to join us for a series of workshops this summer.

Working with Leeds Art gallery and Leeds Museums we have been priviledged enough to see some of his prized etchings and paintings in the flesh. The Cotman project will help artists create new work that could be exhibited as part of our Light Night celebrations and be part of an exhibition at Inkwell during the Love Arts Festival in October.

If you’d like to book onto any of the workshops listed below, you can do so by following the Ticket Link Button to Eventbrite or pop in and see us at Inkwell. All workshops must be booked in advance as limited spaces apply.

We hope you will join us on our journey of art, architecture and landscape……

More information about the project can be found here:

Kirkstall Abbey Site Visit and Workshop

Join artists Kevin Hickson and Beth Smith and visit Kirkstall Abbey for this special one day creative workshop. We will be making drawings, sketches and paintings using the ruins of this famous landmark as inspiration. Cotman visited Yoprkshire and it’s famous historical buildings on many occasions. Kirkstall Abbey and it’s beautiful grounds have been the subject for many of his study sketches and paintings.
