Inkwell was the Old Shoulder of Mutton pub on Potternewton Lane.

Public Transport

You can catch Buses no 2,3 or 3a from Leeds city centre (the bus stop is located opposite the Grand Theatre on New Briggate) The service runs frequently during the day with buses approximately every ten minutes.

The Harrogate service number 36 bus will also stop at Chapel Allerton.

You will need to travel to the stop at Chapel Allerton Hospital. A short walk further up is Potternewton Lane on your left. Once on Potternewton Lane, Inkwell is approximately 100yards ahead, located in the white building on the left hand side.

Inkwell has full wheelchair access into the main gallery space, event space and cafe on the ground floor with double doors and ramp into the building from street level. Our large classroom on the ground floor is also fully accessible.

Accessible toilet and gender neutral toilet facilities are available on the ground floor.

Some workshops take place in the textile room and wet area which is not wheelchair accessible as there is one small step down to access this space. We will always do our best to meet access requirements so if you would like to attend a class that is in one of these areas please get in touch to discuss this with us further.


Inkwell is located on Potternewton Lane and there is some street parking available with 2hr parking limit.

There is a private car park for visitors to the side of the building on street level.
