A new and exciting cinema evening is starting up at Inkwell this Friday 14th December.
But shhh, it’s a secret!
Secret Cinema will be happening Friday evenings once a month at Inkwell.
We will be screening outstanding cinema from across the genres and ages of film. From classics to animations, feature films, Film Noir, World cinema and anything that inspires, informs or entertains. Why is it called secret cinema? because the film title will not be made public until the screening. We will show you brilliant, maybe sometimes lesser known films or films you may not normally choose, but we feel confident that you will love watching them.
This is your cinema night and we would like you to be a ‘Part of the Bigger Picture’ by choosing and suggesting what films you would like to see on the big screen. Take part on our Facebook and Twitter sites and keep an eye out for subtle clues in the run up to the evening.
Alongside our feature films we will also be screening short films made by local directors and our students at Inkwell.
Entrance is free.
Refreshments and snacks will be available from the bar including homemade pop corn so you can expect the full cinema experience.
Come along and join us for an evening of great movies and film, relax in the ambience of our beautiful art space and join in with discussions afterwards.

ARTIST BIO
I am an artist and writer based in Leeds. My visual practice has dealt largely with narratives of danger and sexual risk filtered through the lens of site, landscape, and folk myth. I am currently working on a text / image collaboration with author David Peace, (The Red Riding Quartet, The Damned United et al), which includes performative research with curator and writer Judit Bodor, and whose final outcomes will include a ‘picture book’ publication. A research blog for this project can be found at http://youwillhearmecall.wordpress.com/ My writing has ranged from poetry, to formal ‘art reviews’, and meditations on visual spectacle. Both my visual practice and my writing attempt to combine and counterbalance political and social awareness with romantic and emotional sensibilities.
Emma has worked on many projects with people with mental health service users.
She is currently developing a project in partnership with Arts&Minds Leeds, Inkwell (Leeds Mind), Love Arts Leeds Festival, and Leedsand York NHS Partnership Trust. The project titled Place And Memory: will involve mental health service users to creating a film about places in the city that have meaning for them. Emma has also worked with The Becklin Centre, Nhs Trust Psychiatric Hospital Art Therapy Suite, Leeds Mind Inkewll and The Art House Mentoring Scheme.

Emmas has a MA in Fine Art from ManchesterMetropolitanUniversity and a BA Hons Fine Art from First Leeds Polytechnic.
