As part of the Love Arts Festival 2018, an annual art festival celebrating creativity and mental well being in Leeds, Inkwell Artists and its community have been collaborating to create a stunning new piece of work.
VERGE is a contemporary installation using data and textiles that will adorn our main gallery walls which has been designed by a group of artists who access Inkwell services. The installation itself has been created and built by the many visitors who come to our centre.
Leeds, once a small Saxon settlement and cloth trading town expanded to house the world’s largest woollen Mill: Armley Mills. Textiles were the basis of the economy of Leeds, with extensive waterways and locomotive transport systems making it the textile capital of the world.
Inkwell Artists have created a contemporary installation that considers landscape, textile and data that visualises the connection between the city’s past and present form.
The exhibition is open from Oct 11- Nov 14th
Viewing times: Mon – Sat 10am -4pm
