Inkwell work closely with established Leeds based jazz organisation Jazz Leeds who bring live music to our saturday cafe once a month. Jazz Divas features upcoming and established jazz singers from across the region, playing foot tapping well known jazz tunes in our main gallery space. Our Saturday Cafe serves delicious homemade lunches until 3pm with full espresso bar service and homemade cakes until 4pm.

The unusual line up of voice and cello adds to the unique sound created by these two passionate young musicians . With influences ranging from the jazz ‘greats’ such as Ella Fitzgerald and Shirley Horn, to modern composers including Kenny Wheeler and Marius Neset to singer-songwriters such as Nora Jones and James Taylor, they have a truly individual and confident sound. A concert not to miss.

Sunday Jazz Cafe

teaming up with JazzLeeds means Sunday afternoons at Inkwell are a great way to wind down your weekend. With top jazz musicians performing live in our art space, we serve great coffees and tasty simple meals during the sessions. Seven jazz is an independent voluntary music provider based in Chapel Allerton run by volunteers and music lovers.

£9/£7 concessions, under sixteen’s free.
The doors open at 1pm, music starts 1.30-4pm.

Nel Begley, Laurie Covell and others play an afternoon of west coast jazz, paying tribute to the likes of Stan Getz, Art Pepper and Chet Baker. They’ve recorded recently.

Nicki’s ability to interpret Jazz Classics effortlessly and stylishly has made her a well-respected Jazz singer over recent years. She is the lead Vocalist with The Manhattan Sound Big Band, a recording artist and session singer, a jazz and pop singing tutor and voice coach, workshop and choir leader, musical director and organist and has toured around the world.

BD Lenz Trio

B.D Lenz guitar, James Rosocha- bass, Joe Falcey – drums

Mix together the styles of Pat Metheny, Mike Stern, and Stevie Ray Vaughan and you have the recipe for contempo-jazz guitarist B.D. Lenz. This New York native has played guitar since his early teens, is a graduate of Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, and has studied with such masters as Mike Stern, Vic Juris, and Charlie Banacos along the way.
