Saturday Jazz Divas

Every first Saturday of the month 1.30pm -4pm

Inkwell work closely with established Leeds based jazz organisation Seven Jazz who bring live music to our saturday cafe once a month. Jazz Divas features upcoming and established jazz singers from across the region, playing foot tapping well known jazz tunes in our main gallery space. Our Saturday Cafe serves delicious homemade lunches until 3pm with full espresso bar service and homemade cakes until 4pm.

Sunday Jazz Cafe

teaming up with Seven Jazz means Sunday afternoons at Inkwell are a great way to wind down your weekend. With top jazz musicians performing live in our art space, we serve great coffees and tasty simple meals during the sessions. Seven jazz is an independent voluntary music provider based in Chapel Allerton run by volunteers and music lovers.

Various Sundays
£9/£7 concessions, under sixteen’s free.
The doors open at 1pm, music starts 1.30-4pm.

South African saxman Dan Shout

Dan Shout is a respected sax player and jazz educator based in Cape Town, South Africa. He has performed in over 30 countries with the likes Johnny Clegg, Winston Mankunku, Maria Schneider and Frode Nymo. We welcome him back to Inkwell where he played memorably for us in 2014.

Something different! Don Kipper are a multi award-winning 7-piece ensemble playing  a wide range of traditional musical from Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean from Turkish and Greek folk music to Romani music and Klezmer. Lots of fun!

Alec Robinson Quartet

Formed in 2010, This quartet brings together four distinctive young jazz musicians from the North of England. Stirring and lyrical melodies, striking original compositions influenced by with influences of John Taylor and Kenny Wheeler, and arrangements of pieces drawn from by some of Alec’s favourite jazz artists

Asaxual Quintet

Asaxual was formed in 2016 with a view to paying tribute to some of the most magnificent two-brass front lines of the recent past, such as the great JJ Johnson & Kai Winding , and heavyweights like Shew and Fontana.

Monday Evenings at Inkwell

The Autumn Jazz Voices Choir at Inkwell led by Tessa Smith will start again on September 25th Mondays 7-9pm then continues on Oct 9 and 23, Nov 13 and 27 Dec 11 – we’ll do a performance at the end – the performance date is the autumn Jazz café at Inkwell on the afternoon of December 17th
Cost is £5 per session or £25 for the series.
