Shoulder to Shoulder is an exhibition by male artists that responds to the subject about male identity and mental health. It explores whether traditional masculinity creates unobtainable emotional standards for men, and limits their emotional expression.
The exhibition challenges tradiotnal ideas of masculinity, a process of socialisation that often ignores mental health concerns. research has identified that in the UK, suicide is currently the most common cause of death in men under 49 and research has suggested that men are less likely to engage in health seeking behaviour. The exhibition challenges the stigma associated with speaking about mental health concerns and emotions.
Tuesday 11th October from 6pm -8pm
Refreshments will be available and you will have the unique chance to meet some of the exhibitiong artists and buy original pieces from the show.
