Mentorship Programme

More about the project…

A mentorship programme, funded by The Creative therapies Fund from Mind, enabled talented emerging artists to professionally develop their art practice and learn how to be successful in the creative industries and contemporary art world by linking them with established artists, web designers and publishers.

Inkwell currently has six artist studios for our service users which have also been set up with the help of funding from Mind.

The four mentors involved in the scheme were Emma Bolland, Brian Lewis, Kevin Hickson and Benedict Phillips whose work with the artists involved: promotions and best practices using social media, creating websites, documenting work, approaching galleries, applying for residencies and preparing for exhibitions.

One artist said: “I found it informal enough to be reassuring and sensitive to my mental health needs, but with a dedication and seriousness that inspired me and sparked the confidence that I was being seen as a worthwhile cause.
